2016 Men's Knitting Retreat North Registration
Come enjoy the early Canadian spring with us at the inaugural Men’s Knitting Retreat North. Hosted at the beautiful Loyola House Retreat Centre, with 600 acres of farmland, trails and maintained and naturalized areas, it is the perfect place to relax with old and new friends. Circle around the cozy fireplace, or sit in front of the wall of windows looking over the land.
All rooms are private and have a single bed. Washrooms are dormitory style.
Please note: While the retreat centre is Jesuit owned, this retreat is not religious, and the retreat centre itself is open and accepting of people of all belief systems (atheist included). Straight, gay, bi, queer and trans men are welcome.
Food is prepared onsite by a certified chef who can accommodate food allergies or dietary restrictions. Vegetarian options are included with every meal.
Check in begins 3pm Friday April 15th and checkout is by 6pm Sunday April 17th.
Activities will include a field trip, workshops and lots of relaxing time to socialize with other men who knit. Knitters of all skill levels are welcome. Men who have never knit but want to learn are also encouraged to attend; we’ll connect you with a knitting mentor!
Registration is $310 CDN

Greyhound buses and Go Transit trains offer service from Toronto to downtown Guelph. Guelph also connects with Via Rail’s Montreal-to-Windsor corridor.
For those traveling by car from the United States, the retreat centre is located three hours from the border crossing at Detroit/Windsor and 1¾ hours from Buffalo/Fort Erie. Note that border crossing tends to be faster at Buffalo than nearby Niagara Falls or Lewiston.
For those flying, Toronto Pearson International Airport is one hour from Loyola House.
Note that the smaller Region of Waterloo International Airport offers flights to and from Chicago, Miami and Calgary, with connecting flights for Saskatoon, Edmonton and several cities in British Columbia. This airport is 25 minutes from the retreat centre.
Rides can easily be made available for anyone arriving in downtown Guelph or at Waterloo International Airport. Those arriving at Pearson International Airport should tentatively plan to use Red Car or another shuttle service, but the coordinators will attempt to arrange rides depending on number of passengers and their arrival times. Ride logistics will be arranged closer to the event.
